Milk Pot / Kavadi Receipts

Devotees are requested to obtain receipts for the following services from 11^th January 2006 to 11^th February 2006.

Guidelines for Devotees

Devotees are kindly requested to observe the following guidelines:

1. Assemble your Kavadis at the designated area in SSPT.

2. Dismantle your Kavadis at the designated area in STT.

3. Spike / Chariot Kavadis will be tagged upon leaving SSPT. Kavadi bearers are to retain the tag on Kavadis until they are removed by an official at STT. Kavadis without tags will not be allowed at STT.

4. Thaal Alagu (Spears) shall not exceed 300mm in length.

5. Please note that in compliance with police permit, SSPT doors will be closed at 6.00pm on 11^th February 2006. All Kavadi bearers are kindly requested to leave SSPT before 6.00pm.

6. In compliance with the police permit, STT doors will be closed at 11.00pm on 11^th February 2006. All Kavadi bearers are kindly requested to enter STT before 10.00pm.

7. Only traditional musical instruments such as “Nadhaswaram” and “Thavil” will be allowed in SSPT and STT. As per police regulation along the procession route no instrumental music will be permitted. All musicians are required to register at SSPT on Thaipusam day.

Please Note

Devotees carrying Spike / Chariot Kavadis are requested to enter SSPT via the Race Course Road entrance. Due to space constraint, tents have been erected at Race Course Road to provide space for “AM Spike and Chariot” Kavadis to assemble or prepare. We request the devotees to use this space.

Afternoon Spike Kavadi carriers will be requested to pay a security deposit of $100. The deposit money will be refunded if the Kavadi carrier reaches STT before the stipulated time of 11.00pm fixed by the Police authorities. If the Kavadi carrier fails to arrive within this time, their deposit would be forfeited.

Head Shaving at STT

The following arrangements for Devotees to fulfill their “Head Shaving” vows will be made at the vicinity of Teochew Building (next to STT).

Along Procession Route

Police / CISCO Personnel will regulate vehicular / human traffic. Please co-operate and follow the guidance of these personnel.

Pavilions will be erected along Serangoon Road, Selegie Road and Penang Lane / Clemenceau Avenue for all Devotees / Visitors to converge and view the “Kavadi Processions” conveniently.

Silver Chariot Procession

Silver Chariot Procession of Lord Thendayuthapani from Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, Tank Road will commence at 5.00am and stop at the following locations:

Procession of Lord Thendayuthapani

Procession of Lord Thendayuthapani on “Golden Peacock Vaganam” within the temple precincts will be held at 6.00pm.
